STAFFORD, Kan. (KAKE-TV) -- A Wichita tow truck driver has been killed and the Kansas Highway Patrol needs the public's help in tracking down the driver of a car that struck him.
The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday in Stafford County.
KAKE News is told 39-year-old Scott Christopher Burton was struck and killed by a passing car as he was securing a Village Tours bus to his tow truck after it broke down just west of Stafford.
One witness reported seeing a maroon Oldsmobile passenger car stopped with its flashers that took off as they pulled up to the scene. A second witness reported following a white passenger car driving erratically that was traveling westbound on Highway 50 from the scene. Neither witness was able to get a tag number or identify how many people may have been in the vehicle.
