TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW) Westar Energy not only powers homes in Kansas it also powers students' educations.
14 Kansas high school graduates received a scholarship from Westar Energy Wednesday night.
Selections for the awards were based on student's activities, academics and leadership as well as an interview.
The scholarship gave the young Kansans opportunities they might not have otherwise.
The scholarships are funded by Westar Energy and the Haines Weber scholarship fund.
