TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Historical Society received an unexpected donation Thursday afternoon.

Westar Energy's Brad Loveless, Director of Biology and Conservation Programs, stopped by at 6425 SW 6th Avenue and handed the keys to a Chevrolet 2500 over to the Historical Society's staff.

The donated truck is worth valued at $6,500.

Loveless says its just one of the ways Westar partners with the Historical Society. Westar's Green Team has helped build the trails on KHS grounds.

The Historical Society says it will use the truck to do maintenance on its property.
