Weekend Peek In for June 2-3

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - June 2-3 is a big weekend for animals and art.

The 12th annual Bone Appetit is taking place at the Regency Ballroom of the Ramada Inn Saturday night from 6 to 10 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for Helping Hands Humane Society. Call Helping Hands at 233-7325 for more information.

Sunset Zoo in Manhattan is holding their Friends of the Sunset Zoo's Wine in the Wild Saturday night. The event starts at 7 p.m. and has wine and food tasting all throughout. General admission tickets are $40 in advance or $50 at the door. To purchase tickets visit www.sunsetzoo.com or call 785-587-APES.

That's not the only event at the Sunset Zoo this weekend. They are unveiling their new entry way and education facility on Sunday. A formal ribbon cutting for the Nature Exploration Center will be held at noon. Regular admission rates apply.

Mulvane Art Museum's 20th annual Mountain/Plains Art Fair is taking place Saturday and Sunday. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on the campus of Washburn University. Tickets are $6 at the gate and children 12 and under are free. The event will feature over 80 artists from across the country.
