COUNCIL GROVE, Kan. (WIBW) - Council Grove water usage restrictions have been lifted as of 8:00 AM Saturday morning.
Water Department crews worked until the early morning hours to install a temporary bypass around a clogged water intake at Council Grove City Lake, City Administrator Danny Matthews said in a news release.
Divers are inspecting the intake tower Saturday to determine the exact cause and location of the blockage and to clear the obstruction.
Tthe water restriction was put in place Thursday afternoon. Officials say zebra mussels are believed to have caused the clog.
