Washburn Grad Named To District Court Bench

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Washburn University graduate is the state's newest district court judge.

Gov. Sam Brownback announced Monday he's appointed Faith Maughan of Wichita to the bench in the 18th Judicial District. It covers Sedgwick County.

Maughan received both her undergraduate and law degrees from Washburn. She's currently a judge for the city of Colwich, and city prosecutor for Maize, Park City and Cheney.

She's also a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.
