TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-University athletics are always looking for an edge on the competition, and Washburn university hopes to have just that with some cutting edge vision skills technology called D2 by Dynavision Technologies.
It's a tool that even former college Heisman quarterback Robert Griffin III has used to enhance his skills. Ichabod pitcher Brett Ash hasn't had a chance to test results on the field yet but feels recent data looks promising. "We've seen all our scores improve dramatically and we are getting much faster and better at it. That has to say something."
The D2's benefits aren't just limited to improving talent on the field. It can add significantly to athletic safety as well.
Washburn's strength and conditioning coordinator David Trupp says, "We can use it as a base line test for athletes that have had concussions, head injuries or eye injuries. We can tell how quick their cognitive skills are reacting."
All the programs are scored, measured and fully customizable. The Dynavision D2 is also used to rehabilitate stroke patients in hospitals.
