Washburn University Alumni And Professor Honored

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--A long time professor and three alumni of Washburn University are being honored.

Carol Vogel, ba '67, is being honored with the Distinguished Service Award. She has worked for Washburn for more than 40 years as an instructor of German.

Cynthina Heath,ba '71, is being honored with the Lilla Day Monroe Award. She is the vice president of executive compensation for Emerson Electric Company in St. Louis.

The Col. John Ritchie Award is going to Gary Baker. He has been a professor of finance for almost 40 years at Washburn.

Ingrid Gego is being honored with as Graduate of the Last Decade. Bego graduated in 2003 and is an assistant professor of political science at Hastings College in Nebraska.
