TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Walmart is recognizing our local military in a very special way this holiday season.
Members of the Kansas National Guard, Walmart associates, along with city and state officials gathered this morning to assemble gift bags for National Guard families across the state.
The guard nominated 400 of its families to receive the gifts, which were made possible by a $50,000 donation from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation.
Kansas National Guard families from Topeka, Wichita and Salina will receive a meal with all the fixings, from turkey and potatoes to pie and rolls, along with a $75.00 Walmart gift card.
