TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A vacant million-dollar mansion near southwest urish road and 53rd street is the subject of a lawsuit in Shawnee County District Court and now may be subject to a tax sale.
A 13 News examination of court documents indicates the suit was filed in october 2010, by Randy Lilley Builders against the home's owner, Daniel Bailey Jr and Peggy Bailey.
The Lilley suit is a petition to foreclose on the home at 5037 SW Urish Road.
Several other construction related businesses are also involved in the suit. Judge Rebecca Crotty has set a status conference for July 26th.
Meanwhile, the Topeka Capitol Journal Monday reported the Baileys owe some $24-thousand dollars in back taxes.The CJ article says the delinquent taxes date back to 2009 -- the home could be sold to claim back taxes.
The latest figures from the Shawnee County Appraiser's office list the home as the 4th most expensive in the county, at nearly $1.5 million.
Records indicate the home is more than 11-thousand square feet, with five bedrooms, six baths and a roughly 26-hundred square foot finished basement.
