TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - United Way announced more than $1 million in new and renewed grants for 2013 Thursday.
More than 145 volunteers committed over 1,500 hours to review applications from organizations across our community.
The volunteers determined $1.6 million in funding awards to meet goals in targeted categories.
Those include basic needs, on-grade achievement, early education, financial stability, substance abuse and healthy living.
