TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Some little tykes got to try out some big wheels Saturday at the annual Touch A Truck event in downtown Topeka.
Kids honked the horn and got some hands on experience with fire trucks, concrete trucks dump trucks and more.
They also played in the biggest kid friendly sand pile in the heart of the capital city. Operators of the trucks said they were happy to teach the children something new.
"It's great to see the kids' eyes widen up and ask the questions on the big trucks and give them answers to those questions," said Travis Jepson from the Topeka Police Department.
Visitors were also encouraged to donate a canned food item to the big bucket as a donation to Harvesters Community Food Network.
