NEW DETAILS: Two Inmates Still At Large

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE/WIBW) -- Law enforcement officers are searching for two men who escaped from the Winfield Correctional Facility.

Officials say Frank Crutchfield and Robert Cook escaped from from the minimum-security prison at approximately 1:40 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say the men took off in a state vehicle described as a white 1991 Chevy one-ton box truck with a Tommy lift on the back and Kansas license plate 3558.

The vehicle was used to transport food from the Holly kitchen where it is prepared for the inmate dining room. Officials say Cook was assigned as the driver to transport the food.

Authorities say they located the abandoned truck Sunday morning (6/17), just north or Winfield, with a blown out tire.

Authorities say they pair could be in a City of Douglass truck stolen on Sunday. It's a dark blue 2006 GMC Sierra, with a Kansas license tag 74914.

Robert Cook is a white man, 52 years old, with gray hair, hazel eyes and a gray beard. He is approximately 5’10” tall and weighs about 225 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with a light colored t-shirt underneath and jeans.

Frank Crutchfield is a white man, 48 years old, with long reddish gray hair that he usually ties back in a pony tail. He has a reddish gray bear and blue eyes. He is approximately 5’11” tall and weighs about 231 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans.

Mr. Cook has convictions for burglary and theft out of Harvey County, Cowley County and Butler County, aggravated indecent solicitation out of Pratt County and aggravated escape conviction from 1983 out of Sedgwick County. Mr. Crutchfield is serving time for multiple burglaries, thefts and criminal damage to property out of Sedgwick County and an aggravated escape from custody in 1983 from Shawnee County.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of these two men is asked to call 911.
