Two Individuals Suffer Non-Life Threatening Injuries In Topeka Shootings

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two individuals suffered non-life threatening injuries following several reports of shootings.

Officers responded to 6th and Leland around 7:00 p.m. Monday evening after receiving numerous calls of shots fired in the area.

Officers found the first victim, Martha Tetuan, 20, near the 700 block of SE 2nd. Tetuan had non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Tetuan told officials the incident happened near 6th and Lafayette.

A second victim, Jolian Enrigquez, 31, was also transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Enriquez told police he was shot in the same incident as Tetuan.

Two other residents reported damage to their cars from gunfire following the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to call 368-9400 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 354-0007.
