Trucker To Be Charged Tuesday
POTTAWATOMIE CO., Kan. (WIBW) - The trucker that tore through three counties while being chased by authorities last week will have formal charges filed Tuesday.
55 year-old Robert Smith of Salina will also have his first appearance in court Tuesday.
The chase started in Shawnee County and ended just north of Wamego.
Officials say smith threatened at least eight motorists and passengers. Four people were taken to local hospitals to be treated for injuries as a result of the chase.
Smith was arrested last week for attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property.
