Trooper Earns Stripes Assisting Wandering Zebra

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - It was an unexpected sight along I-70.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a trooper spotted a zebra grazing on the shoulder of a ramp west of Topeka Tuesday morning. KHP says the animal never actually got out onto the highway and the trooper kept it corralled until the owner was contacted.

The zebra belongs to a rancher who lives near the area. The owner was able to get the zebra to follow him back home with the help of some treats.
