Trial Delayed For Man Accused In Shooting Death Outside School

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The trial is delayed for one of two men accused in a murder outside Topeka West High School.

Coty Newman's trial already was postponed from August to November 27th. It's now set for March 25th. Court records show the delay is because Newman's attorney need immediate surgery.

Newman is charged with murder and drug counts in the October 2010 shooting death of Matthew Mitchell.

Co-defendant Austin Tabor pleaded no contest in September. He'll be sentenced November 26th.
