TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka Metro Transit Board announced Thursday night it was not renewing Janlynn Nesbett-Tucker's contract as head of the organization.
The board said it had approved an amendment to her contract, which provides mutual agreement she will end employment April 30th. Her current contract ends June28th.
The amendment states Nesbett-Tucker will be paid 12 months salary when her employment ends.
Nesbett-Tucker drew criticism from the board recently when she sent a message to Topeka City Councilman Chad Manspeaker via Twitter suggesting she needed his help on a policy issue. The tweet was sent in a form that it was visible to all users. Board members had said Nesbett-Tucker had not obtained their support for what she wanted to discuss with Manspeaker.
