Topeka's Radio Shack Stores Must Wait To Learn If They Will Be Closing

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - It's unknown if Topeka will be affected when a store specializing in technology products and services closes 1,100 stores across the U.S.

RadioShack made the announcement Tuesday, stating they reported a wider loss for fourth quarter traffic during the holiday season.

Retailers lost $191.4 million for the period that ended on December 31st; sales fell 19 percent.

RadioShack's headquarters told 13 News that they are not releasing a store closing list at this time.

After the closings. RadioShack would have more than 4,000 stores still open.

Below is the statement 13 News received from RadioShack:

"We are not releasing a store closing list at this time. However, RadioShack will maintain market coverage as part of this plan, with more than 4,000 U.S. stores in the RadioShack footprint. We will have information to share in the future."
