TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)__ Topekans raced together to participate in the run/walk event at the Oakland Community Center Saturday morning.
Participants lined the streets before 8a.m. to celebrate day 2 of Fiesta Mexicana with a 5K run. Even though the weather has been unbearable at times, runners and walkers still pushed through to the finish line.
Traffic was stopped at Sardou and Poplar to allow the runners to safely make it to the finish. Police had other areas blocked as well for the event
This is just one of many fiesta events that will take place through the 15th of July.
