TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Zoo veterinarian Shirley Llizo is suing the City of Topeka.
The federal discrimination lawsuit was filed in late May.
Topeka City Council members took up the matter of settling with Llizo in executive session Tuesday night (10/4).
The suit states that the city intentionally engaged in unlawful discriminatory conduct by treating an American born, male and/or Caucasian more favorably than the plaintiff.
A jury trial is set for July 6th.
