Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka Metro Transit Authority will participate in the 7th annual national Dump the Pump day.

This Thursday, rides on fixed routes will be free all day. Passengers of The Lift Services are allowed up to three free one way trips and charged an additional fare of $4.00 for additional trips.

The day is designed to encourage people to ride public transportation and save money instead of driving a car.

The latest American Public Transportation Association Transit Savings Report says that individuals in a two person household save over $10,000 annually by downsizing to one car.
