TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka fire crews are searching for the person or people responsible for a house fire early Tuesday morning.
Crews responded to the fire at about 12:56 a.m. May 29, 2012. A vacant single-family home at 3212 SE Minnesota was fully involved with fire when crews arrived.
In a press release from the Topeka Fire Department, "Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze, containing the damage to the structure of fire origin."
The Topeka Fire Department Investigation Unit responded to investigate where the fire started and what caused it. The Unit determined the fire was intentionally set, classifying it as Incendiary. It started somewhere in the center of the home.
The fire caused an estimated $3,050 in damage and is considered a total loss as listed on the Shawnee County Appraiser website.
