TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-The Topeka Zoo is joining with Helping Hands Humane Society and the Topeka Community Cycle project to celebrate a special day.
The Topeka Zoo celebrated Earth Day, Saturday. Children had the chance to dig their hands in soil and clay at interactive stations teaching them how to garden.
And zoo representatives want the children and public to remember the three R's: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
Guests and visitors were also able to adopt homeless pets and drop off bicycles to be refurbished and returned to the community as alternate forms of transportation.
