TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Friends helped a Topeka woman celebrate a major milestone.
Shirley Cox will turn 100-years old on Monday, July 8. Wednesday, her former coworkers at the Shawnee County Treasurer's Office threw her a birthday party.
Cox moved to Topeka from Minnesota back in 1938. She and her husband stayed in the Capital City, while she worked at the Treasurer's Office and her husband served as Lake Shawnee Superintendent and Streets Commissioner.
Cox currently lives at Fairlawn Heights Assisted Living.
