Topeka Woman Charged With Trying To Pick Up Seven Pound Package Of Meth

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka woman is charged with trying to pick up seven pounds of methamphetamine from a local post office.

41-year-old Maria Martinez faces one count of possession with intent to distribute meth.

The Topeka Police Narcotics Squad caught Martinez on surveillance video March 18 picking up the package.

Police had learned about the drugs earlier and obtained a search warrant.

If convicted, Martinez could face life in prison and a $10 million fine.
