Topeka Unveils Painted Utility Boxes

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Works of art are turning up in unusual locations around Topeka.

Safe Streets was at SE 29th and California Tuesday to unveil the first of what will be many painted utility boxes.

Safe Streets is partnering with the city of Topeka and Colorworks on a project inviting local artists to paint the boxes. The project is aimed at reducing graffiti by adding art to places often targeted by vandalism.
