TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka RoadRunners hosted a special fundraising event Friday night.

The team partnered with the Fraternal Order of Police to send the families of Officer Jeff Atherly and Corporal David Gogian to Washington D.C. for the National Police Week Memorial.

For every ticket sold to Friday's game against the Wichita Falls Wildcats, the team donated $1 to the foundation to help pay for travel expenses for the families.

The Kansas Expocentre also agreed to match the amount the team raises.

The team and Expocentre raised $2,116 during tonight's event.
