TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)_ The Topeka Police Dept. has ended its walk-in accident phase and will return to normal responding procedures. They made the announcement around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
They switched to walk-in reporting early Sunday morning because of the icy road conditions and recommended drivers stay off the roads if they can.
During walk-in reporting phases, officers will only respond to wrecks involving an injury, a disabled vehicle, or a hit-and-run. Drivers involved in minor crashes should reported them to the Law Enforcement Center.
