TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A Topeka Police Officer was able to avoid major injuries Thursday when a truck came barreling toward him.
The truck rounded a corner and approached the officer, who was directing traffic following a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Huntoon and Macvicar.
As the truck approached the officer, he jumped in an effort to clear its path. The truck scraped the officer's elbow and hit his motorcycle, knocking it to the ground.
Officials on scene told 13 News the driver of the truck may have experienced medical issues at the time of the incident.
