A Topeka man has been sentenced to federal prison for possessing a gun while trafficking drugs.
20 year-old Malik Yates of Topeka, was sentenced Monday to 30 months in federal prison for possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Yates admitted that on March first 2013 during a search of his home by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Task Force.
Authorities seized meth, a .40 caliber pistol and $3,000 in cash in Yates home.
