TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man is behind bars after leading police on a chase through Southwest Topeka Thursday.

Timothy Arterberry was arrested for charges related to possessing a stolen vehicle, felony attempt to elude, and several traffic charges.

Police say officers attempted to stop a stolen 2012 Nissan Titan pickup truck, driven by 48-year-old Arterberry, just after 2:00 p.m. when he fled the area, leading officials on a high speed chase.

The vehicle was found abandoned in an alley in the 1500 block of Southwest Fillmore.

Arterberry tried to flee on foot but was quickly captured in the same area.

The truck he was driving was reported stolen from Oklahoma.
