Charles Whetstone
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man was indicted on charges he tried to sell drugs near a school.
58-year-old Charles Whetstone of Topeka faces federal counts including intending to distribute cocaine within 1,000 feet of Cair Paravel School, 635 SW Clay St. He was also indicted on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and unlawful possession of a firearm by a user controlled substances.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says the crimes occurred Nov. 1, 2012.
If convicted on all charges, Whetstone faces life in prison and a $12 million fine.
