TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - There's no need to wait until Oktoberfest to celebrate German culture and traditions.
Sacred Heart St. Joseph Catholic Parish served up German classics Saturday afternoon after an outdoor mass.
Crowds feasted on brats, sauerkraut and other traditional german delectables - all home-made.
Visitors enjoyed a jug of beer if they were old enough. Everyone got to enjoy the rides, games and and crafts.
The festival opens early Sunday at 10 a.m. after mass and ends at 5 p.m.
Be sure to stay until the end, because there'll be a grand prize drawing for a truck. Other activities include an oral auction and drawings for kids and adults.
