The “Art Of The Brick” Breaks Records
Clearly Legos are not just for kids. Lego legend Nathan Sawaya’s “Art of the Brick” exhibit will hit 40,000 visitors Friday, August 12th. The traveling exhibit came to Washburn University’s Mulvane Art Museum June 16th and has set the record high for attendance at the Museum. It’s new runner-up is an exhibit of pieces from the Koch Family Collection from 1993 that garnered 11,000 visitors.
The museum invites you to help celebrate the 40,000th visitor August 12th in their main gallery at 1:30 p.m. Cake and punch will be available, while supplies last.
Sawaya’s “The Art of the Brick” features 28 sculptures created with iconic Lego bricks. Sawaya explores emotion through human form and says he hopes to make the household toy a work of fine art.
