TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The state's Silver-Haired Legislature is putting its support behind legalizing medical marijuana.
The group met in the house chambers, where they heard from Jack Cole.
Cole leads the group Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. A retired undercover narcotics officer from New Jersey told the group legalizing drugs could actually reduce crime and violence and not increase use.
The Silver Haired Legislature also heard from Governor Sam Brownback. He didn't talk about the drug issue, but did give an update on pension and education funding and medical care.
