TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The Seaman School District is considering changes in its high school math curriculum.

USD 345 math teachers met with the district's board members to explain a proposal for the new Kansas College and Career Ready Standards, also called "Common Core."

Supporters say the common core standards would raise the bar and help students explain the concepts of mathematics and apply them.

Seaman math teachers say students would have to go deeper with the material they're learning.
