MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police are releasing few details on a shooting in Manhattan that left a teenager wounded. Officers are working to investigate the apparent robbery.
On Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 8:20 PM, the Riley County Police Department received a report of a gunshot at a trailer court at 1704 Fair Lane in Manhattan.
Once on the scene, officers made contact with 19-year-old Cody Turnbough of Ogden who told them that he had been involved in an altercation with someone he knows and that during the altercation, he was shot once in the knee.
Turnbough was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan where he is being treated a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The case is being "actively investigated" and authorities are following up on leads in the case, officials said Monday morning. No arrests have been made.
A press release Monday listed the shooting as an aggravated robbery but no other details are being released. It is not yet clear where exactly in the trailer court the incident occurred.
