TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)__ Area law enforcement asked for feedback Tuesday as part of a process that could help them get new equipment.
The Topeka Police Department held a public hearing on its request for a formula grant from the U.S. Justice Department. They are seeking 86-thousand dollars, to split with the Shawnee County Sheriffs Office and Department of Corrections.
The money would go toward items like new tasers, body video gear and radios.
An open meeting on the plans is one of the requirements for the grant.
