FROM TPD -- Basement, attic and garage all full? Wondering what to do with so much wonderful stuff? You’re in luck! You can donate all of your treasures to the annual Sale in the Park which will be held on Saturday, May 21st, at the Crestview Shelter House in Shunga Park at 4801 SW Shunga Drive in Topeka.
Sponsored by the Topeka Police Department’s Citizens Academy Ambassadors, proceeds from the Sale in the Park will benefit the Department’s various programs for volunteers, Cadets, and chaplains.
Visitors to the Sale in the Park will be able to find everything from collectibles to jewelry, decorative items, crafts, furniture, house wares, and just great all-American junk. The sponsors are asking everyone to be on the lookout during their spring cleaning and garage cleaning for items that could be donated that will catch the eyes of bargain hunters. Retailers are welcome to donate unwanted stock from their inventories.
Donations will be accepted at the Crestview Shelter House this Friday, May 20th from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. If you need to schedule a pick up time for your donation, contact Ben Clay, TPD Volunteer Coordinator, at 368-9237 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The sale will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, May 21st and end at 1:00 pm.
According to Clay, “There's plenty of parking and it will be a great opportunity to get out with friends and family members, do something fun, and find some real deals. It is also one of the great people-watching events of the year.”
