Suit Dismissed Against Agency That Sent Tech To NH

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) _ A Boston lawyer says he is working on a settlement with the staffing agency that sent David Kwiatkowski to New Hampshire, where the traveling hospital technician is accused of infecting patients with hepatitis C.

Dominic Paolini sued Nebraska-based Triage Staffing for negligence in July, shortly after Kwiatkowski's arrest. He told The Associated Press on Monday that the case is being dismissed and he is meeting with the agency's lawyers next month to negotiate a settlement instead.

Kwiatkowski, who has pleaded not guilty to federal drug charges, is accused of stealing painkillers from Exeter Hospital and replacing them with syringes tainted with his own blood. Thirty-two people in New Hampshire and a dozen in other states, including Kansas, have been diagnosed with the same strain of hepatitis C he carries.
