TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka high school is stepping up to end childhood hunger.

Students at Hayden High School dressed in orange and spelled out "STOP HUNGER" as part of their school-wide "orange out" event Tuesday.

The school kicked off the community service project with a pep rally in the football stadium.

Students were encouraged to wear any orange attire and bring four dollars or four non-perishable food items to help fill the shelves of Topeka-area local food banks.
