TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Midland Care will be holding their Celebration Walk Friday May 11th, with festivities beginning at 6pm.
The Celebration Walk is a fundraising event used to help the programs of Midland Care and will take place at 200 SW Frazier Circle.
The festivities are family friendly and feature food, children's activities, and entertainment.
Headlining the event will be musical act Street Corner Symphony, who appeared on NBC's show "The Sing Off." They will be joined by local bands, EZ Pieces, Paradize Band, BJ Forgy, Flamingos, Antiques & Collectibles, Topeka High Jazz Band and Drumline, and the Santa Fe Band.
Midland care has been providing end-of-life and elder care in NE Kansas for 34 years, always keeping the promise to never turn anyone away regardless of ability to pay for services.
"We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a great evening on our grounds celebrating the lives of those who have touched us and made a difference in our lives," said Karren Weichert, President/CEO of Midland Care.
There will be 2,000 luminaries to celebrate the lives of those that recieved care at Midland throughout the years and a memorial butterfly release in their memory at 7pm.
The Events at Midland Care conclude at 8:30pm with the closing ceremonies
