TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A personal piece of art is now on display at the Topeka Police Department.

Local stainless steel artist Renee Johnson presented a 24-inch stainless steel Topeka Police Department badge to Police Chief Ron Miller and other officers Friday.

Johnson began working on the piece in October. When Officer Jeff Atherly and Corporal David Gogian were killed in the line of duty in December, she decided to donate her work in honor of the fallen officers.

The finished piece includes their names and badge numbers.
