TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)__ The Kansas Statehouse has received a new decoration Tuesday.

A chandelier built by a St. Louis company from historical photographs was hoisted into place. The original chandelier was taken down in 1942 because of structural issues.

It took all day to make adjustments, and get its positioning just right. The light will hang from the inner dome.

The light is part of an ongoing, 12 year remodel of the Statehouse expected to be finished by October.
