TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Frustrations continue at state motor vehicle offices, but the state is promising answers.
The Shawnee County Treasurers Office posted signs Wednesday, saying no new customers would be accepted into line after noon until further notice. In Johnson County, motor vehicle officials have taken the same action as early as 11 am some days.
Waits of several hours have plagued offices since they closed for a week while the state installed a new computer system. Local staffers report glitches preventing them from finishing transactions. Among the problems is the ability to scan required documents.
Johnson County leaders met with state administrators and the software company this week. The state told them it will respond by the end of the week.
