TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Noise was invited at a library inside the Statehouse Thursday. It came in the form of applause to honor State Librarian Jo Budler.

Budler was recently named 2013 Librarian of the Year by Library Journal. The Kansas Book Festival honored Budler Thursday during a reception at the State Library.

Kansas legislators, Gov. Sam Brownback and First Lady Mary Brownback also attended to honor Budler's work and tour the library, which recently reopened following renovations.

The library offers e-books, statewide database searches, online courses and job hunting tools.
