St. George Fire Ruled An Arson

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The State Fire Marshal's office has found that the January blaze that destroyed a St. George home was set on purpose.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat released the following information on Thursday, March 8, 2012, detailing the developments in the investigation: "The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office continues the investigation of a structure fire at 520 Jefferson street in St George KS. The fire was reported to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office just after midnight on the 14th of January 2012. The home was occupied at the time by the residents. No injuries from the fire were reported and all occupants were able to escape the residence . The home and its contents were a total loss. The State Fire Marshal's Office has determined the fire to be intentionally set ."
