TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - People who need help getting health care are the true winners of a competition at a Topeka hospital.
Saint Francis Health Center announced Monday that employees raised nearly $150,000 through their annual giving campaign. That's 80 percent more than last year.
The success was attributed to the "team" approach. Workers formed ten different teams, trying to outdo each other in what was dubbed the "Saints Shootout" fundraising competition. The combined radiology and cardiology team won.
Money raised benefits the Saint Francis Health Foundation's efforts to provide prescription assistance, charity care, associate assistance and professional education.
