TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Children at a local elementary school were busy learning about a mouse's first experiences of spring Tuesday.
First vice president of Capitol Federal Savings Sarah Shute read "Mouse's First Spring" to kindergartners at Pleasant Hill Elementary School. Students were also given a copy of the book to take home with them.
The event was sponsored by the Capitol Federal Foundation and the United Way of Greater Topeka's Junior Leader Readers program. The program, spearheaded by area young professionals, aims to reach every kindergartner in Shawnee County with a book of their very own.
